Amy, the Mother

I realized early on in parenting that the way I was feeling directly influenced how well I could mother my children.  I use the term "well" in relation to all aspects: love them unconditionally, provide what they needed, discipline/teach appropriately, model the way I truly wanted to live and teach them about the world and their choices, and whatever else factors into the role.

At first, I had no definitive idea of how to change how I felt.  Through some trials and tribulations including some very hard times in our family I realized the true errors begins with how I am thinking about myself, my life, my children, others, our world, life in general and whatever else factors into living life.

One day back in the summer of 2007 I was reminded of the power I have to create my own life.  Oh yeah, this is my life and I can choose how to move forward from the pain I am experiencing.  But the question of "how" still plagued me.  I started to run into resource after resource that brought my attention back to my thoughts.  However, transforming one's thoughts is no easy task.
